Lovey’s UltraCheap Green Pea Soup
Ingredients:
- 1lb dried green peas, split or whole (89c)
- 1 med carrot (10c?)
- 2 small onions (50c?)
- 1tbs peanut butter (?)
- Water
- Spices (we used paprika and lawry’s seasoned salt)
Tools:
- Big Pot
- Blender
- Ladel
- Time
Prep the peas according to package; usually soak overnight. Discard soak water & any unusual or not-very-handsome peas; Rinse peas and place in pot; cover with water. Chop vegetables and add to pot. Add Peanut Butter. Boil for 1 -2 hours or until vegetables are tender. Ladel the soup into a blender and puree. Return to pot and continue to cook untill completely smooth. Yields around 2 liters of soup.
