Alexei Aigi – One Second Hand Kinetic Theater

If anyone has any more information on this artist, please pass it my way. I learned about Alexei Aigi through my dear friend Yevgeniy about 2 years ago when he and his wife Anna came to visit Justin & me in California.

I’m not going to bore you with how much I miss my friends, especially now that we’re really really far away (even further than before which was pretty far already); rather I’d prefer to make new friends similar to my old ones (you know who you are). Friends who know about really really cool stuff, like Alexei Aigi.

It took me a few listens to really get into it, but once I did, it was automatically numbered as “favorite” in my book. It has a very Classical feel to it, but it’s not really Classical music. Orchestrated as Classical and modified into some sort of new semi-classical avant-garde backdrop to what I can only imagine as a stunning performance of costumed acrobats performing inches above my unblinking eyes. A magical sort of realism that is not at all real.

But I know nothing of this artist, and Yevgeniy either doesn’t remember or I’m not pronouncing it properly for him to recall. I did some light research and found some sample mp3s which I believe are offered from him on his site, but still I don’t know anything more about him.

I’m gathering that One Second Hand is the score to a performance by the Kinetic Theater, which is suggested by the website from where I took these images. Any further information would be very much appreciated, especially if you have seen this performance, or others like it.
